As more people return to work, some are also catching up on missed out on medical professionals consultations.
During the health orders, health center leaders at both Crestwood and Huntsville Hospital stressed how important it is for people to continue preventative care.
Dr. Jessica Koelker-Davis, the owner of Cove Chiropractic in South Huntsville, said much of her patients are still getting care. However, she stated back in March her office saw the effect of coronavirus due to the fact that numerous patients were too anxious to come for their visit.
“We really saw a reduction in clients since people didn't understand if they must go outdoors let alone leave their home,” she described.
Koelker-Davis treats a variety of patients of any ages doing preventative care and assisting those who fight with back pain, neck discomfort, headaches and a variety of other problems.
She said clients who are now operating at house said it's taking a toll.
“In the last couple of weeks [I have heard], ‘Oh my gosh I have actually been working from the sofa with a 2-year-old hanging off of my shoulders, and I had this terrific set up at work and now I'm working from the kitchen table. I'm working from the sofa and I am miserable. Can you please assist me?'” Koelker-Davis stated.
She stated once chiropractic care was deemed important by the Alabama State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. A great deal of her clients were experiencing issues with their home/work set-up.
“We adoringly refer to it as ‘tech neck' or ‘Netflix back.' We live our entire lives here. They're unpleasant, and they don't have their excellent ergonomic established like we made certain they had at work,” she said.
In order to keep clients safe, she informed me they eliminated group therapy and are not having individuals in the waiting space.
Koelker-Davis and her personnel are also all using masks and welcoming patients to do so also.
“Every patient has their own space, so they're personal and safe and remote. We have actually downsized hours a little bit to make sure we have adequate time to sterilize and thoroughly scrub this put so everyone is safe as they can be,” she said.
Koelker-Davis said she's also adjusted hours here at Cove Chiropractic to provide her staff and her a lot of time to clean flooring to ceiling.
